The Ontario Jackals boast a professional, dedicated, and experienced coaching staff committed to the development of young baseball talent. Our coaches focus on nurturing both the skills and character of our players, building a life-long love of the game and setting them up for success on and off the field.
Darren Kemp
-Director of Operations-
Darren Kemp is a highly experienced coach with over 35 years in the game and brings a steady, development-focused approach to the Ontario Jackals. His background across all levels of play allows him to effectively support young athletes as they build fundamental skills, game awareness, and confidence in a competitive environment.
Daniel Hernandez Cabrera
-Hitting Coach-
Coach Daniel came to Canada from Mexico, where he was the hitting coach for both Provincial and National baseball teams. Coach Daniel is known for his passion and enthusiasm for the game, and his love of learning new teaching methods that he shares with his players.
Yoslay Villaurrutia
-Fielding Coach-
Coach Yoslay brings Professional experience as a player for Industriales in Cuba, and as a Coach for their Junior development program. Like many other south American coaches, Coach Yoslay focuses on solid mechanics first, often taking players back to the beginning to help correct long standing bad habits. Quiet and resourceful, Coach Yoslay leads with firm confidence.
Kevin Duarte
-Outfield Coach-
Coach Kevin joined the Ontario Jackals after playing for the Cuban National team and coaching the Cuban Junior National team. Coach Kevin prioritizes solid mechanics, fundamentals and game awareness and is a quiet but confident leader on and off the field.
Ian Rendon
-Pitching Coach-
Ian Rendón is a highly experienced pitching coach, bringing professional experience from Cuba where he played for Industriales and Canada, where he played in the IBL. He develops players through strong fundamentals, pitch control, and game awareness, helping athletes compete with confidence and discipline.
Esthela Segovia
-Catching Coach-
Coach Esthela played for the Mexican national team and currently plays in the Women’s Professional Baseball League. Coach Esthela is strict, but full of energy and she focuses on developing fundamentals, game awareness, and confidence in young athletes.
